Protective covers and custom textile solutions for museums
At Devos Arrotex, textile craftsmanship goes beyond production and manufacturing — it’s also about creating sustainable solutions for highly specific applications.
A great example of this are the protective covers we developed for the War Heritage Institute. These covers are designed to safely preserve valuable historical uniforms and costumes in storage.
This project required high-end custom work: the fabric had to be completely free of any chemical substances that could damage delicate museum pieces. That’s why we used 100% natural calico cotton, carefully pre-washed and ironed to eliminate shrinkage and remove all finishing residues.
Each cover was made according to strict specifications:
- a universal size suitable for jackets, coats, trousers, and accessories,
- double layers of fabric for extra protection,
- carefully stitched seams and neatly finished hems,
- an additional pocket for identification or small accessories.
In addition to the covers, we also designed padded hangers tailored for trousers and skirts to prevent deformation.
Using a combination of sturdy base structures, soft cotton jersey covers, and synthetic padding, garments retain their original shape — even after years of storage.
Textile craftsmanship with an eye for detail
Beyond these protective covers, we also create a wide range of other textile projects, each carried out with the same care, precision, and attention to detail our clients have come to expect.
At Devos Arrotex, we are involved from the initial project brief right through to the finished product. With decades of experience in the textile industry and a flexible production process, we can adapt to the most diverse requirements.
