Shoulder bags with a second life: from trade show stand to sustainable carry bag
Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword, but a conscious choice. This project demonstrates that approach by transforming used trade show fabrics from Ansell into durable shoulder bags. Materials that would normally be discarded after an event are given a new and meaningful purpose.
The original trade show fabrics are carefully selected and processed into strong, reusable bags. Instead of becoming waste, they are given a second life as a functional product designed for everyday use.
Each piece is unique
Because each bag is made from existing trade show materials, no two pieces are the same. Colours, shapes and graphic elements from the original stands remain partially visible, giving every shoulder bag its own distinct character. To further reinforce this story, both visually and in content, each bag is printed with the message:
“I’m recycled Ansell events material.”
A clear statement that immediately highlights the origin of the bag and its sustainable approach.
Sustainability in practice
This project demonstrates how circular thinking can be translated into tangible products. By reusing materials to their fullest potential and transforming them into durable, high-quality bags, waste is reduced and each fabric is given an extended lifespan.
